A Christmas Gift

Hard work Christmas, put on a smile,
Be nice to the people who are driving you wild.
The friends and family that you hardly see,
All pop round for a cup of tea.
You wish they would all go and leave you alone,
When all of a sudden there’s more on the phone.

How I long to see the turkey all stripped bare,
The tinsel is trashed but I no longer care.
I want to go back to my group you see,
I do love it there, I do
Love to go to sit in a circle, not a oval you know.

Our facilitators try hard, and God knows we’re trying,
To keep to the time there is no denying.
They help with our problems, the big and the small,
And we would like to thank you one and all.
We can’t give a gift, or even a hug,
But I think it’s time we said – nuff love.

We hope you have a wonderful time
And you’re turkey’s not burnt, the same as mine.
We know the Queen’s speech is on time,
She won’t waffle on, it will be just fine

We will miss the name rounds, the CASPs and the texts,
But don’t be too long in coming back.
So we wish you Happy Christmas and lots of good cheer,
And we look forward to see you, we will be back next year.
